Summary of CV of Professor Tiina Karu
Since 1980 professor Tiina I. Karu has been the Head of the Laboratory of Laser Biology and Medicine at the Institute of Laser and Information (formerly-Laser Technology Research Center) of the Russian Academy of Sciences. She obtained her PhD (Candidate of Science in Photochemistry) in 1974 and her Doctor of Science in Biophysics in 1990 at St. Petersburg, Russia. Over the last 30 years, her main scientific interests have been in the field of laser light-tissue interactions. She has been actively doing research in photochemistry, photobiology, photo physics and laser biology. She authored more than 300 publications as well as three books; “Photobiology of Low Power Laser Therapy”, Harwood Acad. Publications 1989, “The Science of Low Power Laser Therapy”, Gordon and Breach, 1998”and” Ten Lectures on Basic Science of Laser Phototherapy”.2007.Her publications has more than 3323 citation in ISI Web of Science.
