Reza Fekrazad graduated from the Dental School of Tehran University of Medical Sciences in 1997. In 2003, he specialized in periodontology from Isfahan University of Medical Sciences. He is a fellowship graduate in Laser in Dentistry from Tehran-Aachen University in 2011.
He was deputy of director of laser research center of dentistry in Dental Faculty (2010-2014) and also founder and head of first fellowship course of laser in dentistry, Tehran University of medical sciences in Iran. He is member of the steering committee National Research Network of Lasers Medicine in Ministry of Health of Iran. He has currently Google scholar H-index of 38(Citations :4532) ; Scopus H-index of 26(Citations:2531) and a Research Gate score of 2126 (RG H-index:32 – Citations:3507) and serves on the associate editor of Photobiomodulation and photomedicine and Laser Surgery Journal , editorial boards of Photodiagnosis and Photodynamic Therapy Journal, Editor – Journal of Lasers in Medical Sciences (PUBMED-Medline),Editor – LASER THERASPY Journal (PUBMED- Medline),Editor -International magazine of laser dentistry-Editor -DENTAL JOURNAL (MAJALAH KEDOKTERAN GIGI)-Executive Editor – Journal of Archive of Military Medicine,Editor – Frontiers in Dentistry and reviewer in more than 15 international & National scientific journals. He has two national Patents in Bone graft Nano material and microscope accessories.
He has already published more than 230 articles in international scientific journals and has presented more than 170 presentations in internationals congress and also published 11 chapters in international books. He has published more than 25 articles in domestic scientific journals and has presented more than 185 lectures in National congress and 3 books in Farsi. He was founder and head of national committee of laser in dentistry of Ministry of health and medical Education Islamic Republic of Iran 2008-2014. He supervised more than 40 undergraduates and 15 post graduate dentistry students’ thesis.
He was president of 5 national congresses of Laser in medical sciences and head of WFLD-AP first international Symposium of laser in dentistry (Tehran-May 2015). He was chairman of 9th world congress of SOLA in April 2017-Tehran. He is also chairman of scientific committee of third WFLD-APD virtual conference 2021.He was head of 16th Dr.Hedayat research country award in dentistry in June 2023. He is president of 22th annual congress of Iranian Academy of Periodontology in Nov-2023.He has received more than 12 country and university awards specially a presidential award for Outstanding Researcher of the Year in Dentistry field (Razi Festival), 2014 in Iran. He received honorary Fellowship of International College of Dentistry award from ICD in 2016.He received Life time achievement Award of EMLA (European Medical Laser Association )2022 and biannual distinguish researchers award in the country from Iranian Academy of Periodontology 2022. He is member of National Elites Foundation of Iran.
